  • Turkey extradites Mubashshir Ahmad to Uzbekistan

    Turkish lawyer Ibrahim Ergin said that Mubashir Ahmed was deported to Uzbekistan. He was supposed to be deported urgently on May 9, but was sent to Edirne due to public outcry. "He was kept under intelligence control at the Migration Office in Edirne, and then returned to Istanbul on Saturday. In the meantime, he was bypassed by the legal system and illegally transferred to Uzbekistan," the human rights activist said in a statement. According to lawyer Ibrahim Ergin, it is not permissible to return a person who came to his country of origin seeking safety and asylum to his country of origin, both legally, religiously and conscientiously.
