When the person performing the sacrifice slaughters the animal, he must intend to perform the obligatory act of worship - the sacrifice. Because without intention, the sacrifice cannot be performed.

For the sacrifice to be acceptable to Allah, we must perform it correctly. The believer who performs the sacrifice performs this act once a year and for the pleasure of his Lord. Therefore, performing this act in a manner that is worthy of the One who accepts it reflects our sincerity and devotion.
