Uzbekistan welcomes ceasefire agreement in Gaza

Uzbekistan welcomes the agreement reached with the direct support of US President Donald Trump on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the release of hostages, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.

"We highly appreciate the coordinated efforts of Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey in this important process and their important role. These efforts are creating the ground for a rapid cessation of violence, alleviation of the humanitarian crisis, and the resumption of political dialogue."

Uzbekistan has always supported the establishment of a lasting and just peace in the Middle East based on international law and UN Security Council resolutions.

"We are confident that the ceasefire is not a temporary measure, but an important step towards a long-term political solution aimed at ensuring security, establishing sustainable cohesion, and restoring mutual trust between the parties," the statement said.

In addition, it expressed Uzbekistan's readiness to make a constructive contribution to international efforts aimed at ensuring peace, stability, and humanitarian relief in the Middle East.
