Turkish Armed Forces Ready to Keep Peace in Gaza
According to sources in the Turkish Defense Ministry, the country's armed forces are ready to carry out any task to stabilize the situation in the Gaza Strip, the Anadolu news agency reported.
"The Turkish armed forces, which have extensive experience as a peacekeeping force (within the Gaza mission), are ready to carry out any task assigned to them," the ministry stressed.
According to Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, the group will include the United States, Egypt, Turkey and Qatar. The group's main task will be to monitor compliance with the terms of the agreement and mediate in resolving any problems that arise. However, Fidan noted that "at this stage, the group has no predetermined obligations," but if necessary, "it will be involved in finding practical solutions during the implementation of the agreement."
