The Saudi authorities in charge of Masjid al-Nabawi in Madinah, Islam's second holiest site, have drawn up an effective crowd management plan for the current Hajj season to ensure the comfort of millions of pilgrims. According to it, 60 corridors, including 38 main and 8 emergency corridors, will be launched to ensure entry and exit to the mosque.
25,000 new carpets with microchips were laid in the Nabawi Mosque in Madina for the convenience of worshippers. These chips record the location of the carpets, the time of processes such as cleaning and scenting.
More than 5 million pilgrims visited the Prophet's Mosque in Medina on December 8-15.
