The Saudi authorities in charge of Masjid Nabawi in Madinah, Islam's second holiest site, have drawn up an effective crowd management plan for the current Hajj season to ensure the comfort of millions of pilgrims. According to it, 60 corridors, including 38 main and 8 emergency corridors, will be launched to ensure entry and exit to the mosque.
Last week, nearly 7.8 million elderly worshipers prayed at the mosque, which has created favorable conditions for pilgrims with disabilities, writes IslamNews citing GuslfNews.
Foreign pilgrims usually visit Medina before or after Hajj. Thousands of pilgrims land at Madinah International Airport before leaving for the holy city of Mecca for the Hajj pilgrimage and first visit the mosque and visit the tomb of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
For information, more than 2 million Muslims from different parts of the world are expected to perform the Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia this month.
