Demand from Trump, rejection from the Taliban again

US President Donald Trump has once again demanded that the Taliban return their weapons.

"We're giving Afghanistan $2-2.5 billion in aid, which is great, but I want them to give back our weapons... They have tanks, trucks, guns, night vision equipment. Better than we have. Just opened it out of the box. It's unbelievable. I want to get that equipment back," Trump said at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference.

Unfortunately, Trump did not mention how much money the Americans have stolen from the Afghan people. After the Taliban came to power in 2021, Washington froze more than $10 billion in Afghan assets held in American banks.

"The weapons left behind by the Americans are war booty and the legitimate property of the Afghan people. If anyone tries to take them away from us, we will respond using those same weapons," said Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid.

For your information, the Taliban had previously denied that the United States was providing financial assistance to the country.
