The US Senate refused to approve the bill, which provides for the allocation of a total of 110 billion dollars for the support of Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan and other purposes, reports The Washington Post .

The party against the amendments won by a very small margin - 49 to 51 votes.

The Biden administration has previously warned that passage of the bill is necessary to continue financial support for Ukraine, or it could be defeated in a matter of weeks.

Most observers believe that the US Senate's failure to pass this bill has nothing to do with the weakening of American support for Israel. Experts believe that this is a protest step directed against Volodymyr Zelensky, who is refusing the offer of the United States to sit down at the negotiation table with Russia. According to this point of view, Washington is trying to put an end to the Ukrainian conflict as soon as possible and keep the remaining territories in Kiev, and then join Ukraine to NATO after the signing of the peace treaty.
