The US embassy in Baghdad was shot by unknown militants
Unknown militants fired a rocket at the US embassy located in the heavily guarded "green zone" in the center of Baghdad, the capital of Iraq. This was reported by Shafaq News citing sources in the Iraqi security forces.
It is noted that strong explosions were heard in the territory of the American diplomatic mission and alarm sirens sounded in the building. So far, no militant organization has claimed responsibility for the attack.
According to the information, after Israel's attacks on Gaza on October 7, more than 70 attacks were carried out against the bases of the US-led international coalition forces in Iraq and Syria.
Most of the attacks have been claimed by a Shiite group called the Islamic Resistance of Iraq, which is considered pro-Iranian.
