Uzbekistan announced when and under what conditions it will recognize the Taliban government

Uzbekistan will recognize the Afghan interim government "when the time comes," but wants to do so together with the international community. This was stated by the President's Special Representative for Foreign Policy Affairs Abdulaziz Kamilov. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdEBhGg8HSI
According to him, Uzbekistan supports a pragmatic and principled approach in relations with the current Afghan government and the idea of international dialogue with the participation of the Taliban movement.

"Our current cooperation with Afghanistan is not about recognition or not. Of course, when the time comes, we will recognize, there is no other way. We will recognize. But we will try to take these steps together, to recognize together with the international community, with the United Nations," said Kamilov.

Kamilov recalled that the Afghan and Uzbek peoples have lived in a single cultural and civilizational space for centuries, and historical ties cannot be ignored.

For your information, the Afghan government previously donated 16 truckloads of Herat white marble to Uzbekistan for the restoration of the Imam al-Bukhari memorial complex.
