After the proposal of the Russian politician to invade Uzbekistan, the Russian ambassador was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
On December 21, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Russia to Uzbekistan O. Malginov was invited to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported .
"During the meeting, the representative of Russia was informed that the proposal of Zakhar Prilepin, the co-chairman of the "Spravedlivaya Rossiya - za pravdu" party, about the need to annex the territory of Uzbekistan to Russia, was received with deep concern in our country at the conference held in the press center of "Rossiya segodnya", the message reads.
It was reported that the relations expressed by the party leaders of a friendly country such as the Russian Federation, unfortunately, do not correspond to the spirit of comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Russia.
"Such statements widely spread in the Russian mass media are deliberately provocative and may have a negative impact on the historically friendly relations established between our peoples," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
On his part, O. Margilov with full responsibility stated that Z. Prilepin's statements have nothing to do with the official position of the Russian leadership on friendly and independent Uzbekistan.
As the representative of the Russian Federation in Uzbekistan, the ambassador stated that "the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of the Republic of Uzbekistan have never been questioned in his country."
Margilov also noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia plans to comment on this incident in the near future.
Let us remind you that earlier the Russian politician proposed to restore all the territories belonging to the former USSR and to teach the Russian language to its inhabitants, taking Uzbekistan as an example and saying that the Russian language should be taught there.
