6 solar and wind power plants were put into operation in Uzbekistan
A solar power plant was launched in Jizzakh, Samarkand, Surkhandarya, Bukhara and Kashkadarya regions, and a wind power plant was launched in Navoi region.
On December 27, Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in the ceremony dedicated to the commissioning and connection of 5 solar and 1 wind power plants in six regions of Uzbekistan, the press service of the head of state reported.
Muhammad Jamal Al-Ramahi, Chief Executive Officer of B AA 's Masdar Company, Vice President of China Energy Engineering Corporation, Wu Yun, Chairman of the Board of China Energy International Group Liu Zexian, Chairman of the Board of China Gezhouba Group Lin Xiaodan, who are partners of these investment projects, were present at the event. The leaders of SEPCO III, Dongfang Electric Corporation and other companies participated.
As a result of the full commissioning of these stations with a total cost of 2 billion dollars, 2 million households will have uninterrupted use of electricity, 2 billion cubic meters of natural gas will be saved, and an opportunity to create an added value of 4 billion dollars in industry and services will appear.
In particular, the first solar power plants with a total capacity of 200 MW in Karmana and Nurabad districts were built under the terms of public-private partnership at the expense of direct foreign investment and have so far produced 1 billion KWh of energy .
The Masdar company completed the construction project of three photoelectric power stations with a total capacity of 900 MW in Jizzakh, Samarkand and Surkhandarya regions. The first stage of the wind power plant with a capacity of 500 MW has been completed in the Tomdi district of the Navoi region.
In addition, the first phase of construction of two solar stations with a total capacity of 1000 MW in Bukhara and Kashkadarya regions was completed by the Chinese company China Gezhouba Group.
"Despite how complicated the problems related to the production chain and logistics are in the world, we have effectively worked with companies such as Goldwind, Sungrow, Jolywood, Longi in this regard," said the president.
At the ceremony, the head of state together with foreign partners started the work of commissioning and connecting the new energy facilities to the network. The President thanked the investors, engineers and builders.
In his speech, the President touched on future plans for the development of the sector: "The great work we are doing today is the next step in the reforms in the energy sector. We will systematically continue these measures and gradually move to competitive market mechanisms ," he said .
At the moment, work is being carried out on construction projects of 22 solar and wind power plants with a capacity of 9 GW in Uzbekistan.
In general, it is planned to increase the capacity of "green" energy sources to 27 GW by 2030. This makes it possible to save 25 billion cubic meters of natural gas every year and reduce harmful emissions to the atmosphere by 34 million tons.
