President receives Afghan Minister of Industry and Trade

Yesterday, June 11, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Acting Minister of Industry and Trade of Afghanistan Nuriddin Azizi, who is participating in the Tashkent International Investment Forum.

It is noted that the minister conveyed the greetings of the Afghan leadership to the leader of Uzbekistan.

The meeting discussed issues of expanding cooperation in the trade and economic, transport and logistics, energy and agricultural sectors, as well as in the fields of geology, exploration and mining.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev also emphasized the importance of strengthening the legal framework for economic and investment cooperation.

He stressed the need to quickly build the "Hayraton" industrial center and locate enterprises producing pharmaceutical products, furniture, textiles, building materials, as well as processing agricultural products.

The President also expressed support for the implementation of major regional infrastructure projects, such as the Trans-Afghan Railway and the construction of the Surkhon-Puli-Khumri power transmission line.
