Kyrgyzstan is changing the rules of stay in the country for citizens of some countries
From September 5, new rules will come into force in Kyrgyzstan, limiting the period of stay for foreigners without registration and introducing mandatory documents for long-term stay in the country.
From September 5, a new decision of the Cabinet of Ministers on the procedure for the stay of foreign citizens and stateless persons on the territory of the country will come into force. The Ministry of Digital Development mentioned that changes have been made to the registration rules for citizens of countries that have a visa-free regime with Kyrgyzstan.
The list of such countries includes:
Russia;
Kazakhstan;
Tajikistan;
Armenia;
Belarus;
Georgia;
Azerbaijan;
Moldova.
According to the new regulations, citizens of this country who have stayed in Kyrgyzstan for personal purposes not related to work, study or business activities for more than 60 calendar days will have to register on the basis of a document confirming the right to stay in the country based on their purpose.
Main changes:
Previously, citizens of the above countries were given the opportunity to extend the registration period by six months. Now, long-term stay in Lika for personal purposes is possible only if one of the following documents is present (unless otherwise stipulated in the international agreements to which Kyrgyzstan is a party):
Residence certificate ;
Identity card of a non-citizen;
" Kayrilman " (ethnic Kyrgyz who returned to their historical homeland) certificate;
"Meken-kart" certificate.
Citizens of EOII countries (Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia) will be able to stay in Kyrgyzstan for a total of 90 days per 180-day period from the day of entry without issuing additional documents. Citizens of Tajikistan, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Moldova will be able to stay in Kyrgyzstan without registration for a total of 60 days in each 120-day period.
Unregistered citizens must leave the country after the specified 60 or 90-day stay. Re-entry is only possible after 60 or 90 calendar days, respectively.
Citizens who come to Kyrgyzstan for personal purposes can get a temporary residence permit. This document is issued for a period of one year with the possibility of annual renewal, but not more than five years. Registration of a temporary residence permit takes 15 working days.
