Kyrgyzstan canceled visas for Chinese tourists
Kyrgyzstan has introduced a visa-free regime for tourists coming from China. Now, groups of 5 to 25 people arriving from China to Kyrgyzstan will be able to stay in the country for 21 days without a visa. The Kyrgyz government explained this decision with the intention of developing tourism.
According to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers on October 28, a tourist group arriving in Kyrgyzstan without a visa should consist of at least five and at most 25 people.
They must arrive on a pre-approved tourist program and have a return air ticket.
"Tourists are allowed to re-enter without a visa 21 days after leaving Kyrgyzstan. The introduction of a visa-free regime for tourists from China is aimed at strengthening cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the People's Republic of China, increasing the flow of tourists and developing mutually beneficial economic relations," the Ministry of Economy and Trade of Kyrgyzstan said.
The deputy chairman of the Kyrgyz government Edil Baisalov spoke about this decision of the government at the meeting of the 11th forum "China - Central Asia". He noted that this step of Bishkek will bring positive results for tourism.
This decision will make it easier for Chinese tourists to stay in Kyrgyzstan. According to the current requirements, a Chinese citizen can travel to Kyrgyzstan without a visa for up to 7 days only if he has a US, UK and Northern Ireland visa and a long-term Schengen visa. After a week's stay, 21 days from the date of departure, he has the right to return to Kyrgyzstan under the same conditions.
Currently, residents of Macao and Hong Kong Special Administrative Regions can enter Kyrgyzstan without a visa for up to 30 days with a return ticket.
