The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan announced that on January 11, a group preparing to overthrow the government was exposed. The president of the country, Sadir Japarov, informed the official news agency KABAR about this, reports Anadolu.

"We will not allow their evil intentions to come true," said Sadir Japarov.

According to the president, among the group that developed the dirty plan to overthrow the government were embezzlers and tax evaders: "They had very selfish plans. Not many people are behind it. Behind them was a large group. We don't sleep either. We will not allow their evil intentions to come true.''

The president explained that there is a risk of provocations during demonstrations organized in the country:

"I raised this issue when I met with the protesters at the Dordoy market. Those who were there said that there were no people among them who wanted to overthrow the government. However, they did not know that among them there were those who wanted to take advantage of the situation. The instigators of the demonstration tried to stir up protests on the street. They even shot and killed some protesters with pistols or explosives. They wanted to start a riot. They blamed the authorities for the tragic outcome and provoked public discontent."

Japarov warned that those who want to oppose the government will be severely punished.

What happened?

On January 11, the Kyrgyz State Committee for National Security conducted an operation against a group preparing to overthrow the government through a popular uprising.

People who wanted to organize a popular uprising and a number of people in the United States who planned to transfer money were arrested.

A search warrant was issued against businessman Immidin Tashov and activist Tilekmat Kurenov, who were behind the suspects, on the charge of "preparing to seize power by force".
