In Sudan, the Rapid Support Force (RSF) reported that a plane used as a bomber by the Sudanese army was shot down in the Malha region of North Darfur. However, the wreckage belonged to an Il-76 aircraft, and one of the crew members had the credentials of Airline Transport Incorporation FZC, a company based in Kyrgyzstan, based in the UAE.

The Rapid Support Force (RSF), which is fighting the country's army in Sudan, is believed to have mistakenly shot down a UAE cargo plane.

RSF reported that a plane used as a bomber by the Sudanese army was shot down in the Malha area of North Darfur at around 04:00 today.

However, the wreckage belonged to an Il-76 aircraft, and one of the crew members, Viktor Granov, had the ID of Airline Transport Incorporation FZC, a company based in Kyrgyzstan in the United Arab Emirates.

It should be noted that the civil war between the security forces of the Rapid Action Forces led by Muhammad Hamdan Dagalo and the country's army in Sudan led by Abdul Fattah al-Burhan has been ongoing since mid-April 2023. During the civil war, more than 10,000 civilians died, and millions of people became refugees. In addition, cholera epidemic is on the rise in the country. Since July this year, more than 18,000 cholera cases and more than 600 deaths have been recorded in 6 regions of Sudan.
