HuDaPar Party calls on Turkish government to make transparent statement on Mubashir Ahmed issue

The HuDaPar ("Free Cause") party, one of Turkey's major parties and a key ally of Erdogan's Justice and Development Party, has called on the government to issue a transparent statement on the issue of Mubashshir Ahmed, a prominent Uzbek scholar and founder of the Azon Global information and analytical portal. The party expressed the importance of this issue in its statement as follows:

"International law and treaties recognized by Turkey expressly prohibit the rendition of persons at risk of persecution on any demand. Respect for humanitarian principles and the right of refugees to seek asylum is not only a constitutional but also a conscientious obligation," HuDaPar said in a statement.

Expressing its concern over the situation, the party called on the authorities to immediately issue a transparent statement on the situation and not take a step that would entail heavy responsibility, such as handing over Mubashshir Ahmad at the request of the Uzbek government.
