The HuDaPar ("Free Claim") party, one of Turkey's major parties and a key ally of Erdogan's Justice and Development Party, has called on the government to issue a transparent statement on the case of Mubashshir Ahmed, a prominent Uzbek scholar and founder of the Azon Global information and analytical portal. "International law and treaties recognized by Turkey prohibit the rendition of persons at risk of persecution on any demand. Respect for humanitarian principles and the right of refugees to seek asylum is not only a constitutional but also a conscientious obligation," HuDaPar said in a statement.
