US Congress passes bill against Taliban funding

The US House of Representatives has approved a bill prohibiting any form of funding for the Taliban.

The purpose of this law, called "No Footing for Terrorists," is to ensure that no funds from American taxpayers are provided to the Afghan government, directly, indirectly, or through third parties.

The text of the law also includes a harsh statement: "If you are financing the Taliban, then you are not a friend of the United States."

According to the document, direct assistance to the Taliban is prohibited, even through humanitarian organizations and international NGOs.
