The Afghan embassy in Oman has resumed its activities. This was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan on Tuesday, the Associated Press reports.

"Embassy work is being carried out by diplomats of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan as usual," said Zia Ahmad Takal, the spokesperson of the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"The restoration of the embassy in coordination with the host country will play a constructive role in strengthening the political, economic, social and religious ties between Kabul and Muscat," he added.

It is noted that the opening of the embassy indicates the rapid development of relations between the government of the Taliban and the countries of the Persian Gulf.

Neither the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Oman nor the state media of the country confirmed the information about the opening of the embassy.

Last month, an Afghan diplomatic mission was opened in the UAE.

Currently, there are 39 Afghan diplomatic missions around the world.
