Belarus shot down a Russian drone for the first time
Belarus shot down a Russian Shahed kamikaze drone that entered the Gomel region of the republic. This was reported by the Belarusian independent military monitoring center "Belarusian Hajun".
Analysts of the project clarified that on the night of August 28-29, during Russia's next major attack on Ukraine, one of the "Shahed" attack drones flew into the Elskiy district of Belarus.
After that, the leadership of the air force of the republic launched a fighter plane, chased the drone for 20 minutes, and then destroyed it.
As proof of this, the project cited the testimonies of the residents of Elsky district who were woken up by two strong explosions around 03:55. Witnesses reported seeing a bright flash in the sky.
Thus, for the first time, a real war event was observed in the sky of Belarus, and it may be caused by a Russian drone, a "trusted" ally of the country.
