Ankara will continue to protect the rights of the Turkish minority living in Greece's Western Thrace region. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said this in his speech at the parliamentary faction of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP).

According to him, Turkey is closely monitoring the actions of the Greek authorities regarding ethnic Turks in the country and is ready to intervene if necessary.

At the same time, Erdogan emphasized that Turkey is trying to develop friendly relations with all countries and expand the range of friendly countries. "We will never turn away from those who reached out to us," said the Turkish leader.
