Turkey's Anti-Disinformation Center on Sunday denied sending hot underwear to the occupying Israeli army, saying videos circulating on social media were old.
Al Jazeera's source at the center said it contacted the Ministry of Commerce to verify the authenticity of the batch, but found no evidence in its records.
Earlier, a video showing Israeli soldiers unloading a large amount of Turkish-made thermal underwear from containers was circulated on social networks. The video has sparked heated debate among users, raising questions about the authenticity of the video, especially at a time when Israel's aggression in Gaza has escalated.
The Anti-Disinformation Center emphasized that the purpose of publishing the video was to mislead and mentioned that on December 4, 2021, by the decision of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the label "Made in Turkey" was introduced instead of "Made in Türkiye" on the products produced in the country. This means that the clothes in the above video are from the old batch.
It should be recalled that Turkish Trade Minister Omer Polat said last week that trade turnover with Tel Aviv has halved after the war between Israel and the Islamic resistance movement Hamas, which began on October 7.
