American Muslims are planning to launch a campaign against Biden in the states
American Muslims are planning to launch a "Drop Biden" campaign that will reflect their stance on the US president's actions in Israel's war on Gaza, the Guardian reported .
As noted, this position of Arab and Muslim Americans will hurt Biden's chances of re-election in many of the states he won in 2020. Muslim leaders from Michigan, Minnesota, Arizona, Wisconsin, Florida, Georgia, Nevada and Pennsylvania are expected to meet in Dearborn, Michigan to launch the campaign.
The group said in a statement that the campaign was targeting Biden because of his unwillingness to call for a ceasefire and protect innocent people in Gaza, and that "Muslim leaders in swing states will work together to ensure that Biden loses the 2024 election."
Earlier, the American news network NBC reported that the White House "is facing growing and unprecedented domestic opposition for its support of Israel's aggression against Gaza."
Hundreds of federal government employees signed an open letter to Biden asking for a cease-fire to protect Palestinian lives, while hundreds of employees in Congress staged protests and signed letters demanding a cease-fire.
An earlier poll conducted by NBC News showed that Biden's voter support has fallen to the lowest level. According to the poll, 70 percent of voters aged 18 to 34 disapproved of the president's stance on the war, while 56 percent of other age groups disapproved of Biden's policies.
