Azerbaijan called the resolution "On close relations between the European Union and Armenia and the need for a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia" adopted by the European Parliament on March 13, 2024 groundless and biased, a clear example of a double standard.

The European Parliament adopted a resolution on the situation in Azerbaijan, violations of human rights and international law, as well as relations with Armenia. The resolution demanded the withdrawal of the military from the territories freed from Armenian occupation. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan was dissatisfied with the requirements contained in this document and summoned the EU ambassador.
