The European Parliament adopted a resolution on the situation in Azerbaijan, violations of human rights and international law, as well as relations with Armenia. The resolution demanded the withdrawal of the military from the territories freed from Armenian occupation. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan was dissatisfied with the requirements contained in this document and summoned the EU ambassador.

The diplomat was handed a note of protest in connection with the "groundless and biased anti-Azerbaijani resolution" adopted by the European Parliament on October 24.

According to information, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan " strongly condemned " the resolution adopted by the European Parliament on October 24 and the European Commissioner's statements during the discussions in the European Parliament.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that "The continuation of the campaign to condemn Azerbaijan through various institutions of the European Union, the statements and steps that attack the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan , interference in the internal affairs of the country , and encourage revanchism in Armenia, thereby making Azerbaijan ng harming efforts to establish peace in the region" .

"Azerbaijan builds relations with the European Union on the basis of the norms and principles of international law, mutual respect, equality and mutual interests, and calls on the European Union to strictly adhere to these fundamental principles," said the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs requested the European Union to "refrain from malicious steps that violate the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, undermine peace and stability in the region, as well as interfere in the internal affairs of the country."

For information, on October 24, the European Parliament adopted a resolution on the situation in Azerbaijan, violations of human rights and international law, as well as relations with Armenia. 573 European deputies participated in the voting, 453 deputies voted for the document, 31 deputies voted against it, 89 abstained.

In the resolution of the deputies, it was confirmed that the sovereignty and territorial integrity of both Azerbaijan and Armenia will be supported, relations will be regulated based on the principles of mutual recognition of territorial integrity and inviolability of borders in accordance with the Almaty Declaration of 1991.

They also confirmed the demand for the withdrawal of Azerbaijani troops from the territories liberated from Armenian occupation , called on Azerbaijan to respect the territorial integrity of Armenia, and emphasized that the communication issues between Azerbaijan and Nakhichevan should be resolved with full respect for the territorial integrity of Armenia .
