Three buses of Pakistani Shiites returning from the Arbain ceremony, which is celebrated on the fortieth day of Imam Hussain's death, crashed in the Iraqi city of Karbala. At least 38 people were killed in accidents, dozens of pilgrims were injured.
35 people were killed and 15 seriously injured when a bus carrying Shiite pilgrims from Pakistan to Iraq overturned in Iran. These pilgrims were on their way to participate in the Arbain ceremony, which is celebrated on the 40th day of the martyrdom of Imam Husain.
