26 people died when a passenger bus fell into a river in Pakistan


At least 26 people were killed when a bus carrying wedding guests plunged into the Indus River in northern Pakistan.

The incident happened a day ago in the province of Gilgit-Baltistan, according to Dawn newspaper citing Sher Khan, police officer of Diamer district.

According to Khan, the passenger bus was going towards Chawkal district of Punjab state when the accident happened due to excessive speed.

The bus was pulled out of the river using a crane, he said. According to Khan, the search for the bodies of the victims is ongoing, and local residents are also helping.
