The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, visited Afghanistan for the first time since his appointment as a minister and held talks with several high-ranking officials of the Taliban movement. The parties discussed a wide range of issues of cooperation, including the activation of economic relations.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov told the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry Sergey Lavrov that it is important to follow the principle of non-interference in each other's internal affairs in order to strengthen mutual trust. Earlier, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation informed that an official explanation was requested from Uzbekistan regarding the beating of a student by a Russian language teacher at a school in Tashkent.
