Weddings, parties, and family events will be strictly controlled in Uzbekistan
As part of the implementation of the "Save Food" program in Uzbekistan, strict control will be exercised over the conduct of weddings, family celebrations, parties, and ceremonies in accordance with the established procedure. This was established by Resolution No. 589 of the Cabinet of Ministers of September 16 (https://lex.uz/ru/pdfs/7730458).
According to the document, the years 2026-2030 will be declared the "Era of Urgent Food Security." Measures will be taken to ensure the supply of sufficient and high-quality food products to meet the needs of the population and to prevent excessive waste.
The resolution approved a plan of measures to implement the "Rational Consumption" program. It ensures, among other things, that weddings, family celebrations, parties and ceremonies are held in accordance with the requirements of the Regulation on the Regulation on the Regulation of the Holding of Weddings, Family Celebrations, Parties and Ceremonies, approved by a joint resolution of the Council of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and the Council of the Senate of September 14, 2019.
The regulation stipulates that up to 200 people can attend family events, and up to 250 people can attend a pilaf ceremony in connection with these events. It also stipulates that up to 250 people can attend double weddings, and up to 300 people can attend a pilaf ceremony in connection with them.
It is not allowed to hold various shows that are alien to national traditions and contrary to etiquette, and additional ceremonies before, during and after family events that require excessive time and expense (“groom’s groom”, “charlar”, “father saw”, “sep yaydi”, “kuda kirdi”, “groom called”, “bride called”, “togara send”, etc.). It is forbidden to hold excessive events related to funerals and mourning ceremonies (“etty”, “Thursday”, “Sunday”, “twenty”, “forty”, “ayit”, “yil oshi”, “money distribution”, “cloth sharing”, etc.).
