Earlier, it was reported that King Abdullah II ibn al-Hussein of Jordan arrived in Samarkand on a state visit at the invitation of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. During this visit, the parties signed a number of agreements and memorandums of understanding.
According to the press service of the King of Jordan, an agreement on the establishment of a joint intergovernmental commission on bilateral cooperation, an agreement on cooperation in the field of higher education and scientific research, and an agreement on cooperation in the field of tourism were signed between the governments of Uzbekistan and Jordan.
The parties also reached an agreement on mutual exemption from the entry visa requirement and an agreement on mutual promotion and protection of investments.
In addition, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Jordanian Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs and the Muslim Office of Uzbekistan, and a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Jordanian Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs and the Committee for Religious Affairs of Uzbekistan.
