Uzbeks returning from abroad may be subject to mandatory HIV testing



At the July 8 session of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, a draft law was considered in the second reading, which provides for mandatory medical examination for HIV for Uzbeks and foreigners who have been abroad for 90 days or more.

The draft law establishes mandatory HIV testing for citizens of Uzbekistan aged 18 to 60 who have been abroad for 90 days or more and have returned.

It is also planned that citizens of Uzbekistan returning from abroad will undergo mandatory medical examinations for HIV at the expense of the state budget.

The bill was also passed by the deputies in the third reading and sent to the Senate.
