Uzbekistan ranks 53rd in the ranking of happiest countries
Uzbekistan fell 6 places to 53rd in the World Happiness Report ranking published for 2025. Kazakhstan leads among Central Asian countries with 43rd place.
Finland ranked first as the happiest country in the world for the eighth consecutive year. It was followed by Denmark, Iceland, Sweden and the Netherlands. Kazakhstan achieved the best result among the Central Asian countries. Kyrgyzstan ranked 75th and Tajikistan ranked 90th.
Germany, the UK and the US are ranked 22nd, 23rd and 24th respectively. A total of 147 countries participated in the ranking, with Lebanon, Sierra Leone and Afghanistan taking the last places.
It should be noted that in 2024, Uzbekistan ranked 47th, achieving the highest result among the CIS countries. According to the study, the happiest group in the country is the elderly, while the unhappiest group is the population aged 30-44.
The ranking is published annually by the UN's Sustainable Development Solutions Division. It takes into account factors such as income, health, social support, employment, corruption levels, security and confidence in the future.
