"We are closely following the clashes in the Gaza Strip in which civilians, especially women and children, are victims. This situation worries us deeply.
Uzbekistan is in favor of resolving conflicts only peacefully and using all available diplomatic means.
In this regard, international efforts to resolve the crisis in a peaceful way are of great importance. We welcome the actions of all countries, including the initiative of the United States to cease fire, release hostages and restore peaceful life," said the representative of the ministry.
The ministry calls on all parties to exercise restraint, respect international law, refrain from violence and prevent further increases in civilian casualties.
In early June, Israel accepted the plan to end the war and resolve the conflict in the Gaza Strip proposed by US President Joe Biden. The plan includes three phases of de-escalation, mainly a permanent ceasefire and an Israeli withdrawal from Palestinian territories. According to the plan, the first phase should last six weeks.
It includes a full and final ceasefire, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from settlements in the Gaza Strip, and the return of a number of Israeli hostages in exchange for the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners.
The second phase includes the final cessation of hostilities and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip. In addition, all remaining hostages at this stage must be returned to Israel.
Finally, in the third phase, with the support of the US and the international community, a large-scale reconstruction plan for the region will begin, which will last 3-5 years. The remains of those killed by Hamas must be returned to Israeli families.
Hamas has expressed its support for a ceasefire and the withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza.
Israel has stated that it is ready to accept Biden's plan on the condition of reworking.
