Uzbekistan is ready to treat Palestinian children and women in its hospitals
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev made a speech at the extraordinary Arab-Islamic summit today, November 11. This was reported by the President's press service.
Heads of state and government of the leading countries of the Middle East, Central and South Asia, and Africa took part in the event held under the chairmanship of Saudi Arabia.
In accordance with the agenda, the issues of unifying the efforts of the international community aimed at reducing the tension in Gaza and Lebanon, and resolving the emerging situation by political means as soon as possible were considered.
The head of state expressed special gratitude to the staff of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman Al Saud of Saudi Arabia for organizing the summit dedicated to the most acute and painful issue on the global political agenda - the Palestinian problem.
After the meeting in Riyadh in 2023, it was regrettably noted that the scope of this war has expanded even more and has also included the territory of Lebanon.
The President fully supported all practical initiatives aimed at solving the Palestinian-Israeli problem through peace and diplomacy.
Today's summit expressed confidence that effective mechanisms and specific solutions will be developed and implemented at the global and regional levels.
It was noted that the issues of immediate cessation of hostilities, provision of safe humanitarian corridors and initiation of peace negotiations should be in the center of constant attention of the United Nations and the Security Council.
It was noted that the Palestinian people with an ancient and rich history have every right to establish an independent and free state with East Jerusalem as its capital within the borders of 1967.
In this sense, the activities of the Global Alliance for the Two-State Solution, established at the initiative of Saudi Arabia, were supported.
In addition, in order to prevent the humanitarian crisis in Palestine and Lebanon, leading countries and international organizations, including the Special Agency of the United Nations, proposed to expand the scope of aid.
The head of our state noted that he is ready to treat Palestinian children and women injured in the war in the hospitals of Uzbekistan.
It was expressed the intention to discuss the issues of providing practical assistance to the Palestinian people at the "Gulf Arab States - Central Asia" summit to be held in Samarkand next year.
The President paid special attention to the issues of ensuring the integrity of the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque and other unique historical and cultural monuments in Jerusalem and preserving them.
At the end of his speech, Mirziyoyev expressed hope that this meeting will be a big step in solving the Middle East problem.
After the discussions, a joint resolution was adopted confirming the commitment of the parties to the urgent search for a political-diplomatic solution to the conflict.
