US officials thanked Shavkat Mirziyoyev

The Donald Trump administration has thanked President Shavkat Mirziyoyev for organizing and funding the deportation of 131 citizens of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.

The flight repatriating the Central Asians was carried out as part of an agreement between Washington and Tashkent.

The Uzbek government has paid for the repatriation of its citizens, reportedly the first such agreement with a foreign government since Trump took office.

US Homeland Security Secretary Christie Noem gave special recognition to the president of Uzbekistan, who organized a charter flight to repatriate 131 illegal immigrants.

"We thank Shavkat Mirziyoyev for directing the dispatch of a plane to repatriate 131 illegal immigrants to their homeland," he said.

Fox News reported that citizens of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan will be deported upon arrival in Uzbekistan.
