Turkish countries will develop a joint CubeSat satellite

Turkish countries are planning to send a special team of engineers to develop a joint small CubeSat satellite . This team will continue its activities at the research center in Kazakhstan.

The Organization of Turkic States plans to form a special team of engineers to create a joint small CubeSat (Kubsat) satellite.

It was established by the Turkish Space Agency The Organization of Turkic States within the framework of the Space Technology Conference Mirvahid Azimov, deputy general secretary of TDT, who arrived in Ankara to participate in the 3rd meeting of the heads of space agencies (TDT), told Anadolu Agency.

Azimov said that the meeting was very effective and successful. At this meeting, opinions were also exchanged on the venue of the second Turkish Space Camp (Space Camp Turkiye). The first Space Camp Turkey was held last year in Bursa.

Such an event will help to increase the awareness of young people about space sciences, said the deputy general secretary of TDT .

" On the other hand, such events allow young people to unite, strengthen confidence in solidarity and common future, " he said.

The CubeSat project is implemented by a team of experts from the Turkic countries

Azimov reminded that last year TDT created a working group to study the technical aspects of creating a joint satellite of the Turkic countries.

"We are now discussing the results of this group's activities. At the meeting , it was agreed to create a special group of engineers working on a joint satellite on behalf of the Turkic countries. This team will continue its activities at the research center in Kazakhstan," said Azimov.

According to the Deputy Secretary General, TDT member states will send their experts to Kazakhstan, where they will conduct research within the group.

"Our main goal is to launch a CubeSat on behalf of OTG. The goal is to study the environmental conditions in the participating countries and conduct a number of studies," he said.

CubeSat is a format of small artificial Earth satellites for space research with dimensions of 10x10x10 cm and weight not exceeding 1.33 kg.
