Turkey waived Kyrgyzstan's debt of 58.8 million dollars

 

In exchange for the implementation of "green" projects, Turkey canceled Kyrgyzstan's foreign debt of 58.8 million dollars. Also, 19 documents were signed between Turkey and Kyrgyzstan. An agreement worth 7 billion dollars was reached in the energy sector with Turkey's İhlas Holding holding.

In exchange for the implementation of "green economy" projects, Turkey paid off Kyrgyzstan's foreign debt of 58.8 million dollars to the country. Kyrgyz President Sadir Japarov announced this on November 5 after talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Bishkek.

"I would like to express special gratitude to President Erdoğan for the decision to cancel the foreign debt of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Turkey," he said.

Dayirbek Orunbekov, head of the press service of the Kyrgyz president, said that the amount of the debt was 58.8 million dollars, and it was written off in exchange for the implementation of "green economy" projects.

At the same time, Kyrgyz President Sadir Japarov presented Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan with the 1st degree "Manas" order (the highest state award of the republic).

In addition, 19 agreements were signed between Turkey and Kyrgyzstan during the visit of Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Bishkek.

In particular, on November 5, Turkish holding company İhlas Holding reached a $7 billion agreement with Bishkek in the field of energy. The holding bought 30 percent of shares of Orta Asya Investment Holding Inc., which operates in the energy sector in Kyrgyzstan, at a nominal price.
