Turkey to accept 15 Palestinians released from Israeli prisons
Ankara, February 4 - Turkey is ready to accept 15 Palestinians released from Israeli prisons.
The decision was made as part of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, which stipulates that prisoners who are required to leave Palestine will be sent to Turkey.
Israeli attacks and Palestinians in prison
According to sources, as a result of Israeli attacks that lasted from October 7, 2023 to January 13, 2025:
More than 50,000 people died
More than 100,000 Palestinians injured
More than 15,000 citizens were arrested for various reasons
Thousands of Palestinians are being held in Israeli prisons, some sentenced to life in prison. Under the deal, some of them will be released but expelled from Palestine without the right to return.
Turkey's aid and Erdogan's decision
At the behest of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkey and several other countries will accept Palestinians released from prison.
The Turkish National Intelligence Organization (MIT) is taking steps to bring 15 Palestinians to Turkey via Egypt in the first phase.
Necessary conditions will be created for Palestinians to live in peace and security in Turkey.
Security Sources Statement
According to security sources, Turkey will continue its mission of supporting the Palestinian people. Erdogan's position is based on peace and humanity, and this decision was made in this context.
