Turkey has launched its first national and local satellite
Turkey's first national and domestic satellite, Türksat 6A, was successfully launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida, USA, using SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket carrier. With the help of Türksat 6A, the number of people on earth that will be served by Turkish satellites will increase from 3.5 billion to 5 billion people.

The satellite service area includes India, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. With the help of Türksat 6A, the number of people on earth that will be served by Turkish satellites will increase from 3.5 billion to 5 billion people.
The Turksat 6A satellite development project was launched on December 15, 2014, using fully national resources.
It should be noted that in addition to the Turkish National Space Agency, TÜBITAK UZAY, Türksat AŞ, ASELSAN, C2Tech and TUSAŞ (TAI) participated in the development of the Türksat 6A satellite.
