At the meeting of the Astana Think Thank Forum, the President of Kazakhstan, Kasim-Jomart Tokaev, noted that the current situation in Central Asia is very different from the situation 10 years ago, and that the countries of the region are actively cooperating with each other.

Kazakhstan is fully committed to regional politics and close cooperation with all its neighbors in Central Asia, Kazakh President Kasim-Jomart said at the meeting of the Astana Think Tank Forum.

"The more we cooperate, the better for the interests of Kazakhstan and other countries of Central Asia," Tokaev said in response to the moderator's question about advancing the position of middle countries through regional cooperation.

According to the head of Kazakhstan, the current situation in the region "drastically differs from the situation 10 years ago". "Now we are developing active cooperation, multifaceted contacts on a wide range of issues have been established. The leaders of the Central Asian states regularly hold meetings to "adjust the clocks". These meetings are very effective," he said.

"Our political principles are aimed at strengthening the strategic balance. I think that Central Asia is becoming more and more visible on the world map. I hope that my colleagues in Central Asia will agree with this opinion. We will use all possibilities to strengthen the potential of this very important region," said Toqaev.

He added that the voices of regional and middle-level countries should be heard in the UN Security Council.

"We want to see a more inclusive and stable international system. States, regardless of whether they are small or big, should have the opportunity to contribute to building a better world," said the leader of Kazakhstan.

At the forum, Tokaev once again expressed his opinion on the issue of resolving the Russian-Ukrainian war. He reiterated that "Russia is not militarily easy" and said that Russians support the policies of President Vladimir Putin.

"Therefore, we believe that it is necessary to look for peaceful solutions and we support the realistic plans of all countries, including China and Brazil. There is no other way. The alternative is a war of mutual extermination. Perhaps some world powers are interested in this, but it is a path to the abyss. Seeking peace through constructive negotiations is not a sign of weakness, but an expression of strategic intelligence," said the head of Kazakhstan.
