Alisher Kadyrov: "I am not a Russophobe... I admit that I am a Sovietophobe"

A compatriot of Russian origin asked me why I am Russophobic . My answer is simple, I am not a Russophobe!

I admit that I am Soviet-phobic! I believe that the history of the Soviet state is a thief , but it should not remain in the black goose of our history and should not be in our future.

Russia is our big and powerful neighbor. Of course, we are interested in good neighborliness, common interests and development in cooperation with Russia. It is natural that we do not think alike on certain issues and goals, and it depends on the skill of the government, which the people have empowered, to agree on them and find middle points.

About Russia-Ukraine relations...

In any case, Uzbekistan is doing the right thing, considering its own interests. Any war ends with an agreement. Smart management does not go to war.

In the matter of the Russian language...

English, Chinese, Arabic and Persian languages for our young people to learn Russian I have never denied, nor will I ever deny, that it is very useful in the line of learning.

My proposal is simple and clear, children should not be taught a language other than their mother tongue and the state language from childhood. Let our compatriots of other nationalities learn the value of their mother tongue, and let them learn the state language in order to live well in Uzbekistan, which they consider their homeland, that's all.

If one learns the desired foreign language from the middle school years, it will only benefit one's personal development and the development of the country.

I have no doubt that the agreements reached during the visit of the President of Russia to Uzbekistan () will serve the interests of Uzbekistan.

Actions in the interests of our people, regardless of the circumstances, are one of the most important reasons for our support of the Head of State's domestic and foreign policy.
