Meetings on Afghanistan are being held under the auspices of the UN in Doha, the capital of Qatar. In it, the US, along with a number of other countries, promised to lift restrictions on Afghanistan's banking and economic activities. The Taliban welcomed this promise. "The position of Russia, China, Iran, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, the United States and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation is worthy of applause," said Taliban representative Zabihullah Mujahid.

As part of the UN-sponsored meetings on Afghanistan in Doha, the capital of Qatar, the Taliban welcomed the "promise" of the United States (and a number of other countries) to lift restrictions on Afghanistan's banking and economic activities.

"Today's match is going very well. Most countries have expressed their support for Afghanistan's private sector. It was promised to remove restrictions on banking and economic activities," said Zabihullah Mujahid , the spokesman of the Afghan government.

"The position of Russia, China, Iran, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, the United States and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation is worthy of applause ," Mujahid added.

This is the third such meeting of the UN , and the first of a series of meetings in which the Taliban itself is participating.

For information , the international community has not yet officially recognized the current government of Afghanistan, which has been leading the Taliban movement since August 2021.
