The official visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Malaysia has begun

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Malaysia on an official visit on February 4 at the invitation of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

At Kuala Lumpur International Airport, the head of our state was greeted by the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Malaysian Parliament, Johari bin Abdul, Minister of Education, Zambri Abdul Kadir, and other officials. On the occasion of the visit, a guard of honor was formed and the flags of the two countries were raised.

Our President held a short meeting with the Speaker of the Malaysian Parliament at the airport. The issues of developing cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries, exchanging experience in lawmaking, and strengthening investment cooperation were discussed.

The main events of the visit will take place on February 5. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim will hold high-level talks and participate in the Uzbekistan-Malaysia Business Forum. A number of intergovernmental and interdepartmental documents are expected to be signed at the end of the summit.

This visit is expected to bring political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian relations between the two countries to a new level.
