The Chairman of the People's Government of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region visited Uzbekistan
Chairman of the People's Government of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region Erkin Tuniyaz visited Uzbekistan and met with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov. During the meetings, it was reported that 10 percent of the trade between Uzbekistan and China is accounted for by the SHUAR, and the portfolio of investment projects in cooperation with this region is 3.5 billion dollars.
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a Chinese delegation headed by the Chairman of the People's Government of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (SHUAR) Erkin Tuniyaz on March 28, the press service of the head of state reported.
At the meeting, it was reported that about 10% of Uzbekistan's trade with China is accounted for by SHUAR, and the portfolio of investment projects in cooperation with the leading companies of this region is 3.5 billion dollars. This cooperation covers "green" energy and electrical engineering, the construction industry and the production of new types of building materials, metallurgy, infrastructure modernization and other areas.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of further development of mutually beneficial cooperation with Shuar and acceleration of joint projects. A number of priority areas such as innovative technologies, agriculture and water management, transport and logistics, banking and finance, education, traditional medicine were shown.
At the meeting, special attention was paid to the promotion of the construction project of the "Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan-China" railway.
On March 28, Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov also held a meeting with the Chairman of the People's Government of Shuar Erkin Tuniyaz .
It is noted that last year the leaders of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, Shaanxi, Shandong, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Anhui and other provinces visited Uzbekistan.
During the dialogue, it was noted the need to further expand the work in this direction, at the same time, to further develop mutually beneficial cooperation in investment, industrial cooperation, energy, transport-logistics, agriculture, education, tourism and other fields.
