Shavkat Mirziyoyev to pay official visit to Malaysia

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay an official visit to Malaysia on February 4-5. According to the presidential press service, bilateral talks with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim will be held during the visit. A joint business forum and other important events are also planned.

The meetings will discuss issues of developing cooperation between the two countries, expanding ties in the trade, economic, investment, innovation and technological spheres. Special attention will also be paid to strengthening cooperation in such areas as petrochemicals, electronics, "green" energy, "smart" agriculture and tourism.

The presidents will also discuss issues of international and regional cooperation. At the end of the visit, a joint statement and a number of agreements aimed at developing partnership between Uzbekistan and Malaysia are expected to be signed.

Ahead of the visit, presentations on Uzbekistan's tourism potential and cultural heritage, a forum of rectors of higher education institutions, and meetings with think tanks are being held in Kuala Lumpur.

We would like to remind you that on May 17-19 last year, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim paid an official visit to Uzbekistan.
