The ministries of energy of Uzbekistan and Russia have agreed to join the Russian "System Operator" to the Central Asian Unified Energy System (UES). Russian Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilyov informed journalists about this, TASS wrote.

"Today, two ministries A joint statement was issued requesting an urgent decision . Central Asia has a separate energy system, which we have not yet entered. However, in order for us to jointly manage the Central Asian unified energy system, ["System Operator"] must enter, with whom we are connected. The Uzbek side fully supports this. We will do it soon," said the minister.

He said that this initiative is related not only to the commercial export of electricity, but also to the management of flows between countries, which allows to quickly balance energy systems in case of shortages , natural factors and high loads.

"If suddenly something happens to someone, we can quickly support the needs of countries with flows to maintain balance. <...> This is important for us to properly ensure the security of the system," TASS quoted the Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan Jorabek Mirzamahmudov.

The Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan has not informed about this agreement. The ministry's press release said that the ministers discussed issues such as strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, attracting investments in the fuel and energy complex, and implementing new projects.
