People caught illegally teaching religious lessons to children in Namangan

During operational activities carried out in cooperation with the Namangan Regional Department of the State Security Service and the regional Department of Internal Affairs, six cases of illegal religious instruction were identified in various regions of Namangan.

In particular, it was revealed that a 30-year-old resident of Balikchi Street in Namangan was giving religious lessons to 15 people in one of the apartment buildings, while a 51-year-old woman living in the "Ma'rifat" neighborhood was teaching the Quran to 14 minors in her apartment.

In the case recorded in the Yangi Namangan district, a 42-year-old man was providing religious education to 10 underage girls and 3 citizens at his home in the "Mehnatabad" neighborhood.

A similar situation was observed in the "Mashad" neighborhood of Uychi district.

It is noted that such violations were also committed by two individuals, aged 50 and 44, residing in the Turakurgan and Namangan districts.

It should be noted that in Uzbekistan there is still no legal way for children under the age of 18 to receive religious education.
