Parents who involve their children in illegal religious education in Uzbekistan could face imprisonment

Amendments and additions have been made to the Law "On Guarantees of the Rights of the Child", the press service of the Children's Ombudsman reported.

Parents or guardians are now prohibited from sending their children to unregistered or unlicensed organizations or individuals for religious education without the permission of the central governing body.

It was determined that this offense, when committed, will result in a fine of 5 to 10 times the minimum wage, and if committed repeatedly, a fine of 10 to 15 times the minimum wage or administrative detention for up to 15 days.

In short, various restrictions are being imposed on Muslims in Uzbekistan to study their religion.
